SUPER 4: RANGERS, WIKKI TOURIST, IFEANYI UBA AND RIVERS UNITED FIGHT FOR SUPREMACY
Enugu Rangers will look to secure their second win in the Nigeria Professional Football League Super- Four competition when they take on Wikki Tourists in their match-day two fixture at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu on Friday
Both sides started their campaign on a winning note with Wikki rallying back from a goal down to beat FC Ifeanyiubah 2-1 in the competition’s opening fixture.
League champions, Enugu Rangers though were far from their best form, still edged Rivers United 2-0 in the second game of match-day one.
Coming up against an enterprising Wikki side that were hugely impressive in their game against FC IfeanyiUbah, represents a tough challenge but one that Rangers Ghanaian goalkeeper, Nana Bonsu is upbeat the Flying Antelpoes will overcome.
“Wikki Tourists showed class in their game against FC Ifeanyiubah and will be difficult to play against,” the former Ashanti Gold goalie told Reporters
“We are happy with the win against Rivers United and look to improve on our performance.
” The game against Wikki will be tough, but I expect us to win.”
In the second game of match-day two on Friday, Rivers United and FC Ifeanyiubah will going for broke against each other, hoping to salvage their campaign as defeat for either side will end their hopes of emerging champions.
Rivers United looked solid against Rangers with their forwards; Guy Kuemian and Bernard Kuemian impressing.
For FC Ifeanyiubah, their Japanese American coach, Kenichi Yatsuhaghi, will be under the spotlight again following their poor display in their first match against Wikki.
