SKY REMAINS BLUE: CHELSEA IS BACK …LEICESTER CHOP AM FOR HOUSE
When a man falls down, how he reacts to the fall is very crucial..he can remain in his falling state or get up…dust himself and get back up again and also keep going.Well Chelsea have done just that tonight by dusting themselves off that very painful 2-0 loss to Spurs 10days ago that also ended a fantastic winning run that would have set them as the only premiership team to have won 14 straight games in an entire season. They bounced back immediately with a convincing 4-1 win over Peterborough in the F.A cup and now they have two wins out of two as they defeated the EPL champions Leceister city 3-0 at the King power stadium. That win made it a double, as the reverse fixture had also ended 3-0 in Chelsea’s favour at Stamford bridge..
CHELSEA (3-4-3): Courtois; Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Kante, Matic, Alonso, Willian (Batshuayi, 84), Hazard (Fabregas, 79), Pedro (Loftus-Cheek, 84)
Subs not used: Begovic, Ivanovic, Zouma, Chalobah
Goals: Alonso (6, 51), Pedro (71)
It was a game many thought would really test the title credentials of Chelsea but I for one didn’t see it that way because the EPL champions this season are really struggling..just few points off the relegation place. Again Chelsea’s No 1 striker Diego Costa had fitness issues because last Tuesday according to manager Antonio Conte, complained in training about pains in his leg so he trained light through the week, therefore making him not 100% fit for the game.Eden Hazard,Willian and Pedro were deployed to playout the coach’s 3-4-3 formation as Alonso, Matic,Kante and Victor Moses were in the middle of the pack..but if was the former Fiorentina of Italy man Alonso that stole the show with a superb right-footed drive in the 6th minute and this really de-stabilised the Leceister city midfield Uloa,Albrighton and young Ndidi Wilfred who made his EPL debut today..after the break Chelsea kept on pressing as Pedro and Hazard made the host defenders work their socks off..Alonso Got his second of the night when a loose ball got to him from a Willian free-kick just before the 70th minute mark and his snap shot took a wicked Deflectio and beat Schmicheal in goal..
Leceister introduced Okazaki for some more bite upfront but to no avail..rather Chelsea got their third goal off a Pedro header after Ndidi played Willian Onside for a cross from the right of the 18yard box that the spaniard calmly dispatched
Conte later brought in Bashuayi and loftus-cheek for Hazard and Willian as the job was already done.3-0 it ended and Chelsea are still top of the table with 7points..
Alonso kpef me wella today bcos e be like say him don get sense now from the flogging wey I don lash am..so I keep my koboko today sha
Chelsea frontline made the difference today not making the fans miss Diego Costa..
