YOUGETMOUTH.COM AFRICAN NATIONS CUP REVIEW: ZIMBABWE (GROUP B)

ZIMBABWE

The Warriors’ first appearance in the finals since 2006 is unlikely to last long. Not only have they been cast into a fearsome group, but their preparations have been hampered by rotten administration and rows over payment, and they even incurred a fine for submitting their squad late. On the other hand, financial hardship and Callisto Pasuwa’s astute management helped breed powerful team spirit between players during qualification and they do not seem the sort of side to go into any match with an inferiority complex – not when their midfield features Vitesse Arnhem’s Marvelous Nakamba and the Kaizer Chiefs enforcer Willard Katsande. They have a useful attack thanks to Knowledge Musona and the savvy predator Khama Billiat.
