Why You should never use Towel to wipe your face after a bath
IT’S something we do without thinking every time we wash our face.
But one beauty expert is recommending we STOP reaching for a towel to dry off our face
According to the Experts, resisting the urge to wipe away all that excess moisture can work wonders for your skin.
That is, if you’re going to follow up and moisturise it.
“Did you know that keeping your skin damp could increase the efficacy of any products you use following your cleanse?” wrote the site’s experts.
“Damp skin acts like a sponge, and is quicker at absorbing ingredients that come into contact.
Even worse, consider all the potential acne-causing bacteria and others your everyday towel could be harbouring.”
OK, we’re not suggesting you don’t take good care of your Towels, but Towels do have a way of retaining dirt, if especially you share a bathroom with your other half or a friend.
Australian beauty expert Jocelyn Petroni has pointed out that skin only remains damp for a short period of time after you wash – so it’s essential to act quickly.
However, it’s important to point out that saturated skin provides no benefit when you’re layering on product.
Jocelyn told us: “Skin care ingredients will soak into the skin and do their job regardless if your skin is damp or not upon application.
“However, the benefit of applying products to damp skin means you can apply products more quickly and you can also see better skin results.”
