Its the penultimate weekend before the season winds up and it must be said that the excitement is at fever pitch.  Even non-followers of the local football scene accept that things look interesting at the Top of the table as Rangers international, Ifeanyi Ubah fc, Rivers United and Wikki tourist all separated by a mere 4 points can Win the title.

Rangers who are arguably everyones sentimental favorites to win the league have a tricky fixture away at Abeokuta the adopted home of Ikorodu United. The Oga boys are confirmed relegated as of last weekend fixtures and will now only look to make news as the launch pad that propelled the Enugu outfit to a strong title winning position or the spoilers that broke the heart of the Under-acheiving Rangers.

Ima Amkapabo and his men have a lifeline after their loss in week 35 to shooting stars with a comeback win against Sunshine last week and Rivers united loss to Wikki tourists. He knows the team can ill afford any more slip ups and must now stamp their Title credentials with a win or at the very least a draw. Hotshot hitmen Bobby Clement , Obinna Nwobodo and Godwin Aguda must be at their best as Rangers will not have a better chance than this season to break their 32 years Title drought. Their away record, the Flying antelopes isn’t the best,Just 2wins all season tell their own story. But if there was ever a game to pick that 3rd  win its in Sundays fixture. Already Ikorodu united have promised them hell  Promises to be interesting as the Enugu Lads have been promised 3M for each win in their last 2 games. Talk about an incentive.

Wikki tourist 3rd on the table definitely have no reason to lose hope of an unlikely snatch and grab as the league leaders if anything are renowned for their inconsistent hot today cold tomorrow form. Cheif coach of Wikki Abdu Maikaba says the team will fight to the end. The 3 points separating them from the top not withstanding. ”The are two games left and anything can happen, We are calm and will give every thing to win the league.” The Tourists  enjoyed an impressive 1-0 win over fellow title challengers Rivers United and will be hoping to consolidate that with a follow up win vs The Oluyole warriors Shooting stars in Ibadan. The Tourists have a  better Goal differnce than Rangers so if there is a tie in points ..that bit of Stat could proove the decider. But they will need to win their last 2 games to be in with a shout. Godwin Ogbaje top scorer of the NPFL should be one to watch in this encounter he has been in cracking form and loves a goal away from bauchi.

Stanley Egwuma and his Rivers United charges prooved true to type with a typical poor performance in Bauchi last week. A 1-0 setback that turned their title race on its head. They will be at home to Abia warriors a very winnable game but they will be dissapointed as the title chase is not in their hands. Abia Warriors on the other hand have fallen far away from any relevance after the storming start to the season they enjoyed. Just one win in their last 6 games prior to their win against Niger Tornadoes last week meant they flirted with relegation. Can they stand between Rivers United and a title change. Abdullahi Biffos’s men will be eager to respond accordingly
