Super Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr Made good his promise to drop 5 players before he takes his team to  England for the High profile Friendly with the Three Lions of England.

Rohr had said he will drop five players before the squad fly out to England from Abuja on Wednesday.

He will then drop two more players after the England game to have a final squad of 23 players for Russia 2018.

The five Super Eagles players dropped by Coach Gernot Rohr from his Russia bound team:

Uche Agbo

Moses Simon

Stephen EZE

Dele Ajiboye

Junior Lokosa

Bulgaria-based defender Stephen Eze has expressed his disappointment after being dropped from the Super Eagles squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia,

Eze, the Tall gangly Defender, who was a member of the home-based Eagles squad that got to the final of the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in Morocco early this year, was among four players dropped by Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr on Wednesday from the initial 30 invited for camping.

The three other players also dropped are Kano Pillars striker and Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) top scorer Junior Lokosa, Plateau United’s Dele Ajiboye and Standard Liege defender Uche Agbo.

“Sadly, my journey to World Cup ends here. I am disappointed to not make the final squad, but I want to thank our coach and management for the opportunity Eze said

Junior Lokosa on the other hand was full of nothing but Positives following his axe from the final Squad, he stated that the call up was a sign that he was moving in the right direction in his career and will go back and work harder to ensure he gets more callups to the National team.

” i am not dissapointed, if anything i’m very honoured to have won my 1st Cap for the Super Eagles it was a dream come through..I wish the boys all the best in Russia and May God see them through”

Injured Moses Simon will continue his rehabilitation in Belgium as more scans are being carried out to ascertain the extent of the injury he is suffering.

In a related event the Super Eagles made a brief stopover at Aso Rock to get some presidential Blessing from buhari before going on their quest to Conquer the world in Russia in a few weeks time. The President commended the team led by NFF chairman Amaju Pinnick on their Qualification and charged them to go out there in Russia without fear, rest assured of the support of 200 million Nigerians as they battle with 31 other countries for the WorldCup.

Team Captain Mikel Obi thanked the President for his support not just now but throughout the Qualifiers and promised the team will do its best to make the Nation Proud in Russia. He said with the prayers and support of Nigerians the team will go very far as they are Hungry for success and are fearless.

The team Departed Nigeria 2pm and are currently in London for a pre-World Cup friendly against England’s Three Lions at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

From London, the delegation will fly into Bad Tatzmannsdorf, a city in Austria where they will spend eight days at the world–renowned Avita Resort before flying to Russia.

In-between the final camping in Austria, the team will play a final pre-WorldCup friendly against the Czech Republic at the Rudolf Tonn Stadium (just outside Vienna) next Wednesday.
