Remember those days we thought Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was the Messiah? Remember how gassed we were wondering how surely it couldn’t get better having a Legend in charge at Man U and him doing the business winning games and ALL? well looks like we were wrong. What we have is just the equivalent of a Government official who has been well drilled in the art of knowing what to say and how to say it so as not to annoy the paymasters upstairs. Our team is crying for Investment, the Premiership bar has risen so much and every single game is now a fight. There are no small teams for easy gimmies anymore so how on earth can Solskjaer say signing players aren’t a guarantee to success.

We know the glazers never put their money where their mouth is so why would our Manger knowing the way the fans feel at this juncture come out with such words. I don’t care if he is right on face value of the comment, the truth is Manchester United has a current squad (and i dare say Manager) that currently cannot make Top 4. I mean, look at the Jekyll and Hyde results in the 1st half of the season as proof of my point. We get some great results and just when you think we have turned a corner, we are smacked right back to reality. (Don’t get me started on that Watford game away)

Back in the summer, they mulled over bringing Leicester city revelation Maddison to Old Trafford. Members of United’s coaching staff had identified the Leicester star as a player with the right qualities needed to succeed at the club. But guess what?

They didn’t push ahead with a transfer pursuit, however, because they had other fish to fry. Solskjaer wanted a right-back, a winger and a centre-back and got them in the forms of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Daniel James and Harry Maguire.

Now, however, United believe they require a player of Maddison’s ilk. And the Leicester star, when it comes to attacking midfielders, is the club’s leading target. Fred has been underwhelming to put it mildly and lets just say Andreas Pereiera can’t make Arsenal’s bench that just tells you what i think of his quality mostly so far this season

There are Rumors of  us admiring  Bayer Leverkusen’s Kai Havertz but the Germany international has struggled for form over in the Bundesliga this season.

There are also some at the club who believe Christian Eriksen would be worth a punt, despite him preferring a move to Spain or Italy but yet again its a case of not acting decisively and quickly enough or we could have had him.

Im frustrated with the our stop start season, wins against Manchester City and Spurs were great performances showing this team has some ingredients but not the full recipe for a good dish. I want Solskjaer for once let the bosses know how he really needs to buy the right pieces to make his job easier and stop trying to please them like a civil servant
