SKY REMAINS BLUE REVIEW: OMO DAT MANCITY WIN STILL DEY TOTORI ME
I know say na two days ago..but Chai..we kpef well well against Mancity..We show rivals say this EPL title we need am pass anything..
Ater a rather bitter loss to Crystal Palace last Saturday Chelsea needed to respond by winning their next premiership fixture to stay untop comfortably in the log. As expected it wasn’t going to be an easy tie as they had to face Pep Guardiola’s Manchester city at Stamford bridge and after they won this fixture 3-1 last year thier confidence must have been high..it was a must win game for Antonio Conte’s men as Tottenham had closed in the gap at the top from 10 to 7points hence in all ramifications one slip and na Gobbe tinz..infact some football experts called it “Title decider” as they believed Manchester city can take points off Chelsea..
Conte had to do a little tactical reshuffle as Kurt Zouma was given his first start in 14months as he took the place of Azpilicueta in the back three while the spanaird was drafted into the wing back position.Pedro didnt fare well thete in the loss to Palace last weekend so the former Barcelona man was given the freedom to join Diego Costa and Eden Hazard up front so the 3-4-3 formation was at play once again..
A quick break and a combination of passes from Hazard,Pedro and Azpilicueta gave Hazard the first goal just 10minutes into play and with a slight deflection from returnee City captain and defender Vincent Kompany there was little or nothing Willie Cabelero could do..City tried to keep possession in mid field to stop Chelsea from playing their usual game and the exchange of passes from David Silva,Leroy Sane and Aguero kun was beginning to threaten the Chelsea defence a little bit. Thibaut Courtoiu’s poor clearance found Silver at the edge of the box and he took advantage of it driving a low strike down the left,Courtious parried as the rebound was easily tapped in by Aguero in the 24th minute and it was game on.
Fabian Delph started for city surprisingly & he was all combative in midfield forcing fouls on Pedro as City kept on pushing but Fenandiho gave away a cheap foul on the little spaniard in the box off a superb through pass from Febregas and the Referee pointed to the spot without hesitation.Hazard missed his first attempt at goal as Cabelero guessed right but he latched on to the rebound for Chelsea’s second of the night in the 35th minute.
After the break City brought in Raheem Sterling and later Diego Nolito as Guardiola searched for that all important equaliser but it wasn’t to be..Chelsea also introduced Matic to tighten the loose ends in the midfield and later Willian and Loftus Cheek..but at the end Chelsea did the double over City as Guardiola had now lost twice to a team in a season for the first time in his career..
i go still flogg Diego Costa for say him dey waste chances and dey do jaguda tins for field instead of am to dey think of how to score goal
Hazard 10/10 Pedro 8/10 him try wella with those kpefilicious runs..and to coachilala Conte 10/10 cos a kpef coach know how to arrangee team if wunjure dey for kpef player..
we still dey top jor!
Chelsea na the team! Blue na the colour
