MANCHESTER CITY EDGE BLOCKBUSTER GAME AT THE ETIHAD AGAINST LIVERPOOL
If you missed last night’s game between Manchester City and Liverpool, well, you missed a real war! Two Top teams who have spent good money to take their game to the next level clashing to get the advantage over the other in the race to the 2018/2019 premier league title.
Manchester City managed by the irrepressible Pep Guardiola were in a bit of a sticky situation having lost 3 of their Last four League games to Leicester city, Chelsea and Crystal Palace. Last night, their Number 1 competitors Liverpool were visiting with a healthy 7 points Gap, a loss would mean the defending champs would be 10 points adrift while a win will see them cut the gap by 3points.

So the stage was set, everything was on the line, Pride, points, and Bragging rights. what we witnessed was pure action from start to finish.
Liverpool with their Famous triumvate of Mane, Firminho and Salah were ready to silence the boisterous Etihad stadium where fans had thronged to support the home side. Mancity began nervously and should have gone behind first to a Mane strike but were very lucky not to as john stones pulled a last ditch clearance with Centimeters to spare.
They bounced back and Got their noses in front following a piece of outsanding play from Sergio Arguero. who fired home from a tight angle after a cross from the left was poorly dealt with.
Half time ended with the Citizens in front but early in the 2nd half Liverpool struck.Jurgen Klopp had made some tactical adjustments and Firminho found himself unmarked to head home the equalizer from a robertson cross. 1-1 and it was game on. Both teams then went on to trade punches to wear the other out and grab the winner and it was City who managed to get the break as dangerous winger Leroy Sane’s crisp left footer, went past Allison in Goal for Liverpool to give the homeside the win..
The closing stages provided a funny scene as both teams went desperate with Long balls and wild clearances during the closing stages to ensure they get a result. Something you wouldn’t expect from them ordinarily. But in the end Mancity got the victory 2-1 and are now just 4 points behind the Leaders Liverpool.
