IGHALO BEGS FOR FORGIVENESS TAKES RESPONSIBILITY
Distraught Nigerian Worldcup striker Odion Ighalo was full of sadness after Nigeria crashed out of the Russia 2018 World Cup.
Argentina were leading 1-0 at half-time, before a Victor Moses penalty in the second half drew Nigeria level.
Then Just when we thought the Argentines were dead and buried, Marcos Rojo scored a dramatic 86th minute winner to break Nigerian Hearts.
But reacting, Igalo said, ‘’I Apologise to Nigeria, I apologise to my team mates, I take responsibility for this game because if I had taken those chances I had, that would have made it a different ball game now ,but that is football and life has to continue.
‘’It’s a sad day for me, the boys and the country because we went out in a bad manner and we deserve more in the game.
‘’We had a penalty in the game and another one which the referee did not give.
I missed a couple of chances that would have finished the game but that’s football because sometimes you win and sometimes you lose
Social Media have literally taken Igalo to the cleaners over his 2 missed Chances and it will take a while before Angry Fans forget. It will be recalled Yakubu Aiyegbeni was singled out for Hard Knocks after the 2010 World cup following a missed open net chance that would have seen Nigeria Qualify with a win against South Korea. which we ended up drawing 2-2
