Its a blockbuster anyday..Two fierce london Rivals that maybe don’t necessarily hate each other but are very competitive against one another. Arsenal and Chelsea know deep down that they cannot win this league this season so the best thing is to probably try and finish as high up the table as possible. Arsenal more than Chelsea need this 3 POINTS on offer tonight as they are in Danger of being left behind in the race for Top 4. Its been a turpsy turvy Season for the gunners so far, results have been up and down and as you would expect the speculation over the futures of their two top talents Ozil and Sanchez has been a bad distraction. Ironically it was these two players who destroyed Chelsea the last time these 2 met at the Emirates last season but this was under very different circumstances.
They Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday as they attempt to regain momentum following Sunday’s 1-1 draw at West Brom.
Arsene Wenger and his players were left incensed by referee Mike Dean’s decision to award a late penalty for a Calum Chambers handball.
The incident saw their Manager get into trouble with the FA, while the draw left Arsenal trailing behind in the race for the top four.
Chelsea currently sit third, seven points above Arsenal, and know victory at the Emirates Stadium will see them leapfrog Manchester United into second.
The Blues have dropped just two points over the festive period so far, having won four of their last five league games, recently knocking 5 goals past struggling Stoke city.
Arsenal duo Mesut Ozil and Laurent Koscielny have an outside chance of returning from injury to face Chelsea on Wednesday.
Koscielny’s likelihood of playing is rated at 30 per cent by Wenger while Ozil is close to recovering from a knee problem and will be assessed.
Sead Kolasinac, however, will be out for two weeks after taking a knock to his ankle against West Brom on Sunday. Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud (both hamstring) and Nacho Monreal (ankle) all remain sidelined.
Chelsea have no fresh injury problems for the trip to Arsenal, though defender David Luiz (knee) and forward Charly Musonda (groin) remain out.
Both have returned to training and could feature in Saturday’s FA Cup trip to Norwich.
This game has certainly not come around at the right time for Arsenal as not only are they in poor form , but the injury hit squad might struggle to ope with a fully fit and firing Chelsea. Chelsea to win 2-0
