CSKA2-ARSENAL 2 GUNNERS SURVIVE ELIMINATION SCARE IN RUSSIA

Arsenal just likes to Toy with their Fans emotions..4-1 up from the first leg heading to Russia all they had to do to progress is just not concede 3 goals without scoring any. So what did they do? By the 50th Minute Arsenal were 2-0 down facing a Hostile Home crowd and a Rejuvenated CSKA who all of a sudden sensed they could get something out of the previously hopeless situation. Arsenal were looking lost, confused and Toothless in attack while their defence was all at sea as pr usual. But we should have expected nothing less, Arsenal will always find the hardest route to accomplish a simple task.

Yet despite conceding goals either side of half-time, Wenger’s side stumbled in to the semi-finals of the Europa League

Regardless of who they end up with in today’s draw with Athletico Madrid, Marseille, and Salzburg. The Gunners will have to be far better organised compared to this tie against a side who were generally woeful but still came dangerously close to inflicting one of the most embarrassing losses in Wenger’s reign

Arsenal simply did not keep the ball well enough while Nacho Monreal did not exactly cover himself for either goal while Petr Cech could have done better for the second.

Yet thankfully, Danny Welbeck delivered a confident and polished finish to ensure that a tricky evening did not turn into a ridiculously dramatic one.

And Aaron Ramsey netted a finish in injury time that Arsenal’s performance scarcely deserved.

About 500 Arsenal fans had travelled from England with another 300 coming from the supporters clubs of both Moscow and Belarus.

The home side’s academy handed out Russian hats to the visitors while Manchester United’s supporters received raincoats when they came here in September.

Danny Welbeck netted a goal that sent Arsenal through to the Europa League semi-finals

Danny welbeck was the Hero last night for Arsenal

For Arsenal, the key was to be solid rather than dynamic going forward and Wenger will have been happy that his team looked secure defensively – even though Shkodran Mustafi was his usual suspect self.

Next to him was Laurent Koscielny who delivered a couple of decent blocks and remains a key part of this team if Arsenal are to go all the way in the Europa League.

With continued worries over his Achilles, an ongoing problem, do not expect to see him too many times in the Premier League now Europa is the priority.

This is proved by the fact that his last four games for Arsenal have been in the Europa League and while this will not bother Arsenal fans, this issue will be a major worry for the French going into the World Cup.

Fellow countryman Alexandre Lacazette went into the game in a decent shape and with his confidence having improved but has left to feed off scraps.

The Gunners were feeling the heat after going 2 goals down ..but when Welbeck scored his impressive opener for the away side the Hosts knew the game was up..They looked to have run out of steam by the 89th Minute as Arsenal began to enjoy some dangerous fast breaks. One of which led to the 2nd goal by Ramsey. Elneny who was my man of the match laid his second assist of the evening and the Welshman did the rest. So 2-2 it ended and we we look to the draws today to see who Arsenal gets in the Semi Finals.
